The highly anticipated closed beta for ArcheAge Chronicles, the upcoming online action RPG, is set for June 2026. According to Kakao Games‘ latest financial report (covering the first quarter of the year), the publisher also reaffirmed that the title’s official release remains firmly scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The report also provided updates on the publisher’s roadmap for this year. Planned releases include the ambitious MMORPG Odin Q, the 2D MMORPG Project OQ, and the zombie survival game God Save Birmingham. On the other hand, the launch of the heavily anticipated action RPG Chrono Odyssey is now targeting the first quarter of 2027.
A challenging financial outlook for the company
On the financial front, Kakao Games is navigating a tough spell, impacted by declining revenue and a lack of recent breakout hits. First-quarter results reveal a 32.5% year-over-year drop in revenue. Meanwhile, operating losses climbed to a record 25.5 billion won, alongside a net loss reaching 39.5 billion won.
The primary driver behind these losses was the downturn in mobile earnings, which dropped to 55 billion won (a 42.7% decrease compared to the previous year). Meanwhile, the PC division delivered a more stable performance, though its figures still represent roughly half of what mobile devices generated.
