Kakao Games has officially announced that ArcheAge Chronicles, the highly anticipated MMORPG by XL Games, is progressing steadily and is set to enter a global closed beta (CBT) in the second half of 2025.
The company confirmed during its Q1 2025 earnings call that the game already includes most of its core gameplay systems, such as combat, progression, exploration, dungeon battles, housing, and trading. Developers are currently fine-tuning its creative combat mechanics, weapon and class systems, and expanding its immersive storyline.
An initial test with over 100 global Western players is scheduled for June or July, serving as a prelude to the full CBT later this year. Following the teaser video released last year, community interest has continued to grow, prompting the studio to refine the title further.
ArcheAge Chronicles is planned for release on PC and consoles, and it stands as one of the most ambitious titles in Kakao Games’ upcoming portfolio.
